Recently, our administrative staff tested this glass food container with a purple silicone-sealed lid. We used it for storing and carrying meals, including rice and dishes with sauce. Here are the results.
What We Liked
1. Convenient Microwave Heating
The glass container can be placed directly in the microwave for heating, making it convenient for everyday meals. There is no need to transfer food to another dish.
2. Reliable Leakproof Performance
The lid provides a tight seal when properly closed. Even when the container was filled with dishes containing soup and shaken during normal carrying, no leakage was observed.
3. Air Release Valve for Microwave Use
The lid features an air release valve. Opening the valve before microwave heating helps release steam and prevents excessive pressure from building up inside the container.
What Could Be Improved
Our team also identified a few points worth considering:
- Relatively Heavy: The glass material adds weight, especially when the container is full, making it less convenient to carry.
- No Separate Compartments: Without dividers, different foods can easily mix together. Of course, this is the model used for testing; it doesn’t have separators. In general, those with separators are more in line with daily dining habits.
- Silicone Seal Cleaning: Food residue can get trapped around the silicone sealing ring. It needs to be removed and washed separately. Improper cleaning and storage may also lead to mold growth.
Our Overall Feedback
Overall, this glass food container offers convenient microwave heating and reliable leakproof performance. It works well for storing and carrying everyday meals, particularly when keeping food separate is not a priority.
However, its weight and silicone seal maintenance are factors worth considering when choosing a food container for daily use.
